MedCockpit and TransBIOTech Join Forces

MedCockpit and TransBIOTech are joining forces to drive innovation in the life sciences in Canada from Lévis.

Through this multi-year partnership, TransBIOTech’s scientific expertise and infrastructure will be combined with MedCockpit-Bio’s technology suite to enhance the services provided to the companies the center supports, with the goal of expanding coast to coast and forging ties in Latin America and Europe.

LÉVIS (QC), September 10, 2026 — MedCockpit Inc. and TransBIOTech, a college-based biotechnology research and technology transfer center affiliated with Cégep de Lévis, today announced the signing of a long-term, multifaceted partnership agreement. Established and led by these two Lévis-based organizations, this collaboration demonstrates the region’s ability to develop cutting-edge technological solutions locally to serve the Quebec and Canadian life sciences ecosystem.

Two local organizations, one shared goal

TransBioTech is a college-based technology transfer center (CCTT) that has been active since 1999, specializing in cell biology, analytical chemistry, immunology, inflammation, microbiology, and pharmacology. Recognized as a key player in biotechnology innovation in Quebec, it provides companies in the life sciences sector—from early-stage startups to well-established SMEs—with access to applied research expertise and specialized analytical platforms, and contributes to the training of the next generation and the transfer of knowledge through teaching at the Cégep de Lévis.

MedCockpit is a Quebec-based company headquartered in Lévis that specializes in digital pathology infrastructure serving the healthcare, research, laboratory, pharmaceutical, and biotech sectors, as well as the academic and continuing education communities. Its software suite and cutting-edge expertise already support public health networks in Canada, including the first Canadian public health network to have completed a comprehensive digital transformation in pathology. MedCockpit is now applying this expertise to biotechnology research by joining forces with TransBioTech.

Scientific expertise and IT infrastructure serving businesses in Quebec and across Canada

At the heart of the agreement is the deployment of the MedCockpit-Bio suite, which will become the central data-sharing hub for TransBIOTech and, by extension, for the companies that receive support from the center. This infrastructure includes, in particular, a cloud environment hosted exclusively in Canada—the Canadian Research Cloud—which provides companies served by TransBIOTech with access to cutting-edge digital tools within a sovereign, secure framework tailored to the requirements of life sciences research.

TransBioTech brings its scientific expertise, specialized technical platforms, and in-depth understanding of the needs of biotechnology companies, which will guide the adaptation of the MedCockpit-Bio suite to the realities of applied research in pharmaceutical, cosmeceutical, and natural health product development.

The areas of collaboration between the two organizations include:

• joint applied research;

• the transfer of knowledge between scientific and technological teams;

• technological development tailored to the needs of biotechnology companies;

• the deployment of IT infrastructure dedicated to life sciences research;

• the deployment of a Canadian research cloud, ensuring data sovereignty;

• the implementation of the MedCockpit-Bio suite as a shared technology platform for TransBioTech and its network;

• Training and continuing education for laboratory specialists, in both clinical and research settings, using state-of-the-art technology.

A catalyst for growth for Lévis and the greater Quebec City area

This partnership strengthens the position of Lévis and the greater Capitale-Nationale region as a rising hub in Canada’s biotechnology ecosystem. By bringing together a renowned applied research center and a Quebec-based technology company, TransBIOTech and MedCockpit demonstrate that it is possible to develop solutions in Quebec capable of supporting the entire life sciences value chain—from basic research to clinical application.

Beyond the immediate benefits for both organizations, this collaboration illustrates the role that college-based technology transfer centers and Quebec technology companies play in the growth of biotech SMEs. By facilitating access to advanced digital tools, this agreement helps create and drive value for Quebec and Canadian life sciences SMEs, both in the current economic climate and from a long-term perspective.

A Canada-wide and international ambition

TransBIOTech and MedCockpit share a commitment to expanding this collaboration nationwide, from coast to coast, based on a model developed in Quebec and designed for deployment across Canada. The two organizations also intend to promote this expertise internationally, notably by establishing partnerships in Latin America and Europe, positioning Lévis and Quebec as a hub for scientific and technological collaboration with a global reach.
